The last good shot I took with the G10 on the same night that I photographed the breakwater with Sofitel Hotel and Star City in the background. This is the part of the baywalk perpendicular to the one where I took a photo of Speedy on a bench beneath palm trees with fronds swaying in the breeze.
My objective in taking this photo was to show the longest stretch of the baywalk as the camera would allow with the ferris wheel on the extreme right. I did just that except that the presence of the light post with the glaring halogen bulb cut the visual impact of the long line of the baywalk. I took several photos from different locations but the light posts were strategically located so that no spot on the baywalk was not illuminated. Good for the security of the amblers there but bad for photography. There was always a light post in the frame no matter where I stood unless I took a shorter stretch of the baywalk. And that wasn’t the objective. Since I couldn’t physically move the lamp posts, I left one in the frame with its glare blazing near the center of the image.
